Across Wales, young people face huge inequalities in access to music. Cost, rural isolation and reduced local provision mean opportunities often depend on postcode, income and personal support networks. This is a huge challenge for many young people, especially those from disadvantaged and underrepresented backgrounds, who as a result miss out on the life-changing connections music can create and the chance to share their passions within a like-minded community while forging their own path.

Anthem is helping young people across Wales to access, explore and make connections in music. We do this through a diverse programme of activity which encourages youth leadership, builds skills, confidence and connections, and helps to create a sense of belonging within their own communities. Each strand of activity addresses the real barriers young people are facing in Wales today – from rural isolation to economic disadvantage – while keeping youth voice at the heart of delivery.
