Theatre can be transformational! But learning-disabled people in Scotland face barriers to accessing the arts. 10-15% of the population in Scotland are learning-disabled. Yet the space, resources and limited capacity make it difficult to engage meaningfully in the arts as a performer. Access to the arts is essential for wellbeing, confidence and communication. Learning-disabled people in Scotland deserve the opportunity to share their voice, tell their stories and perform on stage.
We exist to remove barriers to participation in the arts and champion the talents of disabled people to proudly make fabulous theatre. For over 40 years, we have been creating opportunities for disabled people to train, perform and thrive in a creative environment. Our productions are bold and brilliant. We create new work with our ensemble which is award-winning and has been presented to audiences on some of Scotland’s much-loved stages.
