Islington is one of London’s most unequal neighbourhoods, where over a third of young people are growing up in poverty. Our borough is home to world-leading culture but we know that its benefits are out of reach for many children growing up here, and we want to change this. Through Every Child, the Almeida will use theatre to improve wellbeing, skills and life chances for all young people in our borough.

Over the past year, we’ve built relationships with all primary and secondary schools in Islington and The Big Give will help us work with all these schools, for free. By reaching all students in Islington through their transition from primary to secondary school, we'll make sure they know the Almeida is a place for them. We'll work together with teachers to meet their students' needs and unlock opportunities to discover theatre, create new work and build skills.
