Our mission is to inspire the musicians and audiences of the future. We know that access to live, high-quality music in schools is difficult, particularly for schools in rural areas. The Carducci Quartet are passionate about changing this by taking music workshops into schools around the country.

We know that music can have a profound impact on children’s development, wellbeing and emotional resilience. But with budgets squeezed and many schools without access to subject specialists, transformative music experiences can be hard to deliver. Rural schools have the additional problem of being unable to travel to concerts and workshops elsewhere, leaving many schools with only access to recorded music.
Our project will provide transformational creative experiences for children and young people to inspire future musicians and audiences. We’ll take live music workshops with the Carducci Quartet into primary and secondary schools, introducing the children to the sound world of the string quartet and the building blocks of music, often for the first time. With secondary schools we’ll empower young people to have the confidence to compose music for string quartet.
