There are only about 4,000 tigers left in the wild, and people are hunting them. Elephants are shot for their tusks. Pangolins killed for their scales. Forests cut down or burned to feed the market for timber and palm oil. Plastic waste pollutes the land and sea. “Ghost” nets drift through the ocean: discarded by fishing boats, they continue to catch and kill marine life. Climate change is already with us, shifting the seasons and causing more extreme weather.
For over 40 years we’ve pioneered the use of undercover investigations and intelligence work in the global fight against environmental crime. Our undercover investigators are on the trail of wildlife crime networks. Our evidence helps to prosecute criminals, bring issues to the attention of the public and decision-makers, and change laws around the world. Our dedicated campaigners are pushing for better laws and policies, and stronger law enforcement to protect our planet.
