We need nature – it’s central to our health and wellbeing, it underpins our economy and our food systems and it’s vital to the fight against climate change. But in Scotland we’re losing the nature we love. Almost half of Scotland’s species have decreased in number since the 1970s, and 1 in 9 is at risk of extinction. We’ve had fine words from the Scottish government, but little action. This has to change, and fast. It’s time those in power made restoring Scotland’s nature an urgent priority.

Our campaigning led to the Natural Environment Act, which will bring in legally binding targets to restore Scotland’s nature. This is a game changer – but now we need to make sure the targets are met. By channelling the power of our movement, we can hold the Scottish government to account. Through our campaigns, our policy expertise and our recognition among MSPs as a trusted voice for nature, we’ll push for the action needed to save Scotland’s iconic wildlife and habitats for everyone.
