Many of the neurodivergent children & young people we support can’t find services and school placements to meet their needs. They may be home schooled due to the lack of suitable provisions in mainstream or special education. We are oversubscribed, a clear indication of the lack of suitable provision locally. Right now, we need support to deliver our current programme, with ambitions to expand to meet demand impacted by lack of investment in youth services and SEND support countywide.
Project Art Works has worked with neurodivergent children & young people, in schools and in the community, since 1997. We support children towards greater communication, self-expression and to explore their potential, through art. Launched in 2014, Art Breaks offers a creative environment where they have choice, control and agency. Parents and carers, get together and form friendships, and have access to free advocacy and training to help navigate complex health and social care systems.
