Taking part in theatre activities is not accessible to all young people in Lewisham, we believe that every young person is an artist and has a powerful creative voice. Barriers to engagement we experience include: financial barriers, lack of representation, socioeconomic factors, neurodiversity, dynamic disabilities, lack of self-esteem or low mental health or wellbeing. There is an inequity to accessing participatory arts and LYT seeks to reduce that through it's inclusive working practices.

LYT offers FREE participatory arts activities for young people in Lewisham (ages 8–25). Our core programmes include: workshop groups, performance companies, theatre makers, backstage training & outreach activities, all run from our youth-led Creative Hub. Valuing diversity across our groups creates inclusive environments for young people to thrive. We centre & celebrate young people’s experiences, building creative leadership, confidence & artistic expression, whilst supporting individual needs.
