Craft plays a crucial role in our wellbeing, from improving mental health to enhancing social skills. But as it disappears from schools, we need local, affordable options for young people to discover craft. And the support can't stop there. Studio space is becoming increasingly expensive - even for established makers - and specialised support is vital to help craftspeople grow creatively and commercially.

Cockpit creates opportunities for people at every stage of their craft journey. • School visits, community workshops, and Open Studios days show people the possibilities and benefits of craft • Early-career makers can apply for Awards and Bursaries that provide subsidised studio space, business support, and access to a thriving craft community • Makers at all stages of their journey across the UK can access our business support through online workshops
