We’ve been generously gifted Rhos Goch, a rare 1.35ha species-rich wildflower meadow. We’re raising funds, so that we can protect this vital habitat for pollinators and other wildlife, manage it sustainably, and create a nature reserve that the local community can enjoy.

Flower-rich meadows in the UK have declined by 98% in the last century, leaving remaining habitats small, fragmented and vulnerable. Radnorshire has very few hay meadows left, making them a priority for conservation. The Rhosgoch meadow is one of these rare habitats. It will likely be lost if RWT cannot raise the funds to take it on. We hope to secure this disappearing habitat for future generations.
We will protect Rhos Goch by securing the base funding needed to manage it as a species-rich meadow in perpetuity. Through sensitive grazing and traditional hay-cutting, we will prevent damaging practices and enhance biodiversity. By opening the site for quiet public access, we will help people experience first-hand the value of these rare landscapes and build long-term support for their protection.
