75% of local parents said their disabled child was excluded from mainstream activities, including music, despite responding positively to it, with a lack of accessible creative opportunities that meet their needs. Many face communication barriers, isolation and poor mental health, while families struggle with high extra costs. Parents told their us children experienced - “Loneliness, communication difficulties, stigma, low self-esteem ” and lacked opportunities to reach their potential.

We will remove the barriers facing young people with disabilities by providing OK Music School for 80 pupils to receive specialist 1-1 music lessons with music therapists, enabling them to learn to play an instrument or sing and express themselves through music. They will perform in 4 annual concerts, gaining confidence, pride and improved mental wellbeing. They will make friends as part of a community. Older pupils can join our Band and some pupils will sit music exams, reaching their potential
