Est. 2004, award-winning People’s Theatre Collective run inclusive creative workshops for underrepresented young people in Banbury. We’re creating a permanent creative home in Castle Quay Shopping Centre—equipping a space where they can lead, belong and create the theatre & art that matters to them.

Beneficiaries
Banbury has wards within the 20% most disadvantaged in the UK. In Ruscote, 30% of children live in poverty (JSNA 2024). Young people, especially those with Special Educational Needs, disabilities, refugee backgrounds or low incomes, face barriers to arts opportunities. Without inclusive access, they miss out on vital creative, social & emotional development. Without a safe, welcoming space, they risk isolation. Local people tell us they want activities, but they must be free & accessible to all.
We already deliver weekly Amplify workshops in 6 community settings across Banbury. Now, we’re creating a shared creative home where young people from different backgrounds can meet, create & celebrate together. This space will host inclusive workshops, self-directed theatre & art-making & events like our Tell Your Story Festival—an approach we’ve already trialled in Castle Quay shop units. We’ll also offer regular drop-in arts engagement for young people of all ages to welcome new voices.
