Over 97% of the UK’s wildflower-rich grasslands have vanished, taking with them vital habitats for skylarks, pollinators and other farmland wildlife. In south Lincolnshire, intensive farming has left few safe spaces for nature. Without urgent action, this 87.65ha site at Hawthorpe will be lost forever to agriculture.

With your support, we will buy and protect the land in perpetuity, restore it through low-intensity grazing and nature-friendly management, and reconnect it to nearby habitats. This will create one of Lincolnshire’s largest new grassland reserves, providing safe breeding grounds for skylarks, boosting local biodiversity and providing nature wellbeing benefits for local communities.
