Time spent on screens is at an all time high. The report 'Screen time: impacts on education and wellbeing' published by the House of Commons Education Committee in May 2024 found that the rapid rise of the use of screens and devices has had a hugely detrimental effect on children and young people, impacting their face-to-face socialisation, mental health and physical activity, Young people need tech free spaces where they can be happy, explore their potential and develop in self-confidence.

Singing in a choir is a joyful, shared activity. NCCGB offers a happy and supportive space. We will use the funding to support our junior choirs aged 9-15. Our courses enable our choir members to make meaningful and long lasting connections and friendships with like-minded children and young people. We will help them to develop in self-confidence and self-belief, and to achieve their potential away from screens.
