We believe in the power of creative writing to change lives. From our dedicated writing centre in Hackney we spark young people’s imaginations and unlock their potential. We celebrate young people’s voices, develop their writing skills and build their confidence, courage and aspirations.

Our community in Hackney is vibrant and diverse, but there are barriers that make accessing creative opportunities unequal - with many young people missing out. It's proven that when young people are given a safe space to make their voices heard and take part in creative activities, it can be transformative for their wellbeing, confidence and aspirations. We know there is no limit to the potential of our young people and we exist to ensure that none of them miss out.

We run free creative writing workshops for young people aged 6-18, after school at our writing centre in east London and in local schools. Young people explore their ideas and imaginations with the support of professional writers and our volunteer writing mentors. They meet new friends, write brand new stories and poems and eat a lot of breadsticks. Through our workshops young people grow in confidence and courage, feel more positive about themselves and become better writers and speakers.
