Insect Week is our flagship annual event. Every June we host events across the UK and beyond with partners sharing our passion for the wonderful world of insects. In the midst of a biodiversity crisis we need your help to grow Insect Week 2026 for the next generation to study and support insects.

We know that most insects beyond bees and butterflies are undervalued. Many of those species are crucial for pollination, for recycling organic matter, creating new soil, and they aid with vital medical research. Meanwhile, not enough people study insects and their roles in our world. Young people are excited to learn more about insects, an interest that wanes as they grow older, while some don't have access to greenspaces and resources to study insects. We help to educate more insect experts.
With our annual Insect Week in June we host events introducing visitors to some of the UK's more than 25,000 species of insects. Our events here and abroad are often the first opportunity for people to study an insect using a microscope, take part in a citizen science project or identify a local species. Across five city hubs we will offer access-to-all activities, also supporting disadvantaged young people to study insects through science and art activities to empower local action for nature.
