Young people across the UK face barriers to creative education due to cost, location and limited provision. By age 14, research shows that participation drops sharply, limiting skills, confidence and access to future pathways. This early exclusion reinforces long-term social and economic disadvantage and denies young people from all backgrounds the opportunity to shape the UK’s thriving creative industries.
National Saturday Club provides free, year-long extracurricular programmes for 13–16-year-olds UK-wide. In partnership with universities, colleges and cultural institutions, Clubs offer weekly classes led by expert tutors, industry Masterclasses, cultural visits and an end-of-year exhibition. This proven model develops practical and social skills through transformational experiences, bridging the gap to accessible creative education and ensuring opportunity is not limited by circumstance.
