Not all young people have the same opportunities in life. Caudwell Youth exists to level the playing field for young people at risk who may have experienced mental ill health, be care-experienced or be at risk of exploitation or offending. We shape futures with person-centred mentoring support.

The young people Caudwell Youth supports face four main challenges: • Almost all (94%) are experiencing mental health challenges • 6 in 10 (62%) are at risk of exploitation and/or offending • Almost a fifth (18%) are care experienced In addition to this: • 7 in 10 are neurodivergent • More than half receive free school meals • 36% are disabled • A third (28%) are NEET (not in employment, education or training) • 2 in 10 are a young carer
Caudwell Youth shapes futures by providing volunteer-led mentoring to at risk 11 to 24-year-olds. Unlike most services, which that offer short-term support, our mentoring can last for up to 18 months. We give young people the time, trust and support they need, no matter their starting point. Each young person gains a consistent adult who meets with them once a week – offering a listening ear, practical help and patient encouragement.
