Last year, we saw huge increases in demand for our foodbank. As more families continue to struggle with rapid increases in the cost of living, we will see even more using foodbanks this year. We’re raising vital funds to ensure our foodbank is stocked to meet increasing demand throughout the winter.

Our foodbank is oversubscribed. In 2023-2024, we supported 146 households with 1165 parcels of food and essential toiletries. The cost of living crisis put considerable pressure on supplies throughout 2024, with foodbanks across the city reporting a 25% increase in reliance on services on the previous year*. As such, we would expect to see the quality of provisions decreasing, with less available for families in need. (*Source: Brighton & Hove Council, Emergency Food Annual Report).

Our vision is an equal and fair society where every woman can lead a rewarding life. With the money raised, we will be able to continue providing essential items for families - including store cupboard items, fresh fruit, vegetables, toiletries & menstrual products – as well as a high-quality service, delivered by trained volunteers who can signpost other services when necessary. We can alleviate financial and emotional stress, to ensure these women can pursue their wants, not just their needs.
