335 children at Mankhanda Primary School are learning in thatched shelters with just two classrooms and 50 desks between them. We're helping the community build new classrooms so every child has a safe, dignified space to learn and grow.

Mankhanda Primary School serves 335 children from 10 villages but has only two permanent classrooms and 50 desks. Most learners study in thatched shelters exposed to rain, wind, dust, and pests, making concentration and safety impossible. The severe shortage of space and resources has led to a 30% dropout rate (well above the national average) as children struggle to learn in overcrowded, uncomfortable, and often disrupted conditions. Young children are especially vulnerable in this environment.
We will support the community to build two permanent classroom blocks at Mankhanda Primary School, replacing unsafe thatched shelters with safe, weatherproof learning spaces. Each block will be furnished with desks and learning materials to reduce overcrowding and improve the quality of education. This will ensure all 335 children have a dignified, stable environment to learn and thrive. The community will contribute labour and help maintain the facilities long-term.
