Bradford Royal Infirmary Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) provides CQC-rated 'outstanding' clinical care to babies born prematurely at the earliest age and those who are born critically unwell. We have 31 cots, and treat around 500 babies every year. Currently there are only 5 bedrooms on the NICU, meaning that the majority of parents must leave their babies every day, travelling miles and incurring huge additional costs, all at a time when they are under extreme worry and stress.

The new 'Home from Home' accommodation will provide a welcoming place to stay, somewhere to rest, cook and give a sense of normal life during such a difficult time. There will be five additional en-suite bedrooms, a family room, living room, kitchen, dining room and laundry alongside a secure outdoor space, prayer room and office space. Use of the space will be free-of-charge, providing extra care and support for families who suddenly find themselves in this most traumatic situation.
