Orphan teenagers in the Kageran region have poor health and educational outcomes due to abject poverty, with little or no family support. Many young people drop out of school to care for younger siblings, struggle to find food, and find low-paid work to support themselves and their families. Many are at risk of exploitation and often homeless. There are limited opportunities for training for these young people who have no parents or government support.

The vocational training school will provide a second chance for an education to equip them with the skills necessary for personal success. The Tumaini Orphan Support Organisation has a proven track record in delivering a two-year programme where they learn practical skills in carpentry or sewing, take literacy & numeracy and business classes, receive a uniform and daily meal. Peer support, & individualised practical support ensure every young person succeeds.
