In the North East, over 170,000 children live in poverty, leaving many families unable to afford basic items like safe sleeping spaces, toiletries, prams, bedding, and toys. Without these essentials, babies face increased risks to their health, development, and wellbeing. Parents are forced to choose between vital needs, adding stress and uncertainty.
Love, Amelia will continue providing vital essentials to families in crisis. In 2024 alone, we supplied 598 cots, 400 prams, and 2,376 clothing bundles. Referrals come for complex reasons such as families fleeing abuse, working parents , refugees, and asylum seekers. By supplying bedding, toys, nappies, and winter clothes, we ensure babies have a safe, warm start.
