We are addressing the critical gap in mental health support. 15% of local people live in poverty, compared to a national average of 13%. The impact of mass deprivation correlates with a significant prevalence of poor mental health. Suicide rates are nearly double the national average. Need for mental health support continues to grow, with people struggling to navigate daily life challenges. Depression, anxiety & emotional distress can often feel overwhelming, leaving people unsure where to turn.

We are addressing Calderdale's mental health crisis through providing free, community-led services: crisis help line & 1-1 support available 7 days a week, peer-led drop-ins, and tailored recovery for those in distress. Our culturally aware programmes reduce stigma, assist with welfare, and bring mental health support into schools and minority communities - empowering people of all ages to manage wellbeing and access help early. Everything we do is rooted in local need, compassion, and equity.
