Our current food systems are too often destructive to human and planetary health, fueling both social and environmental harms such as chronic disease and biodiversity loss. Hunger is a dire problem, with one in five in the UK facing food insecurity. We believe everyone deserves affordable, nutritious food and a fairer system. Real positive change is too often blocked by profiteering, short-term thinking and vested interests. We all suffer from the effect of unethical behaviours and decisions.

Food Ethics Council is an independent not-for-profit working for just, inclusive and resilient UK food systems for >25 years. We galvanise changemakers in pursuit of fairer food systems, challenge those in power to share it, and help leaders make ethical decisions. We provide constructive provocations, convene diverse voices and champion actions for better food systems. We will host 'roots and routes' roundtables, to identify root causes and fairer routes to change - for a better food future.
