Disadvantaged young people face many barriers to outdoor learning. To address biodiversity loss and climate change we need to inspire them to love, connect and protect nature. Getting them outdoors is a key part of this. Access to green spaces is not equitable. Black and Asian children are more than twice as likely to live in nature-deprived areas than white children. Those most impacted by the climate crisis are most likely to miss out on nature-based learning and would benefit the most.

200 subsidised trips to our Field Studies Centres will: • Remove financial barriers • Teach about nature and how to protect it • Build confidence and resilience • Improve long-term health and wellbeing • Provide new experiences and broaden horizons • Teach green skills for nature School budgets are tight in disadvantaged areas, parents struggle to pay for trips. Funded trips help us achieve our mission to make outdoor learning opportunities available to all, not just those that can afford it.
