The project will provide individualised support to some of the most vulnerable children living in urban poverty in Nepal. Through a range of complementary services, it aims to protect children from harm and empower them and their families to build safer, more stable, and sustainable futures.

Beneficiaries
Thousands of children in Nepal, one of the world’s poorest and fastest-urbanising countries, are growing up in overcrowded slums, excluded from basic services and exposed to violence, abuse, exploitation, and trafficking, with 1 in 3 involved in hazardous labour. Lacking responsible family care and with minimal government child protection capacity, these children remain neglected, unsupported and trapped in poverty, with little hope of a safe, healthy future.
In partnership with two local organisations, we provide a range of complementary services for severely neglected children living in dysfunctional, chaotic families and children living away from their families in labour or street-connected situations. Services delivered by trained social workers include temporary shelter and rehabilitation support, family counselling, food stipends, help to obtain legal identity/benefits and access to education, training and positive livelihood opportunities.
