We fight injustice by equipping people to deal with life’s legal problems – benefits, housing, work, family, injury, and debt. With free advice services vastly over-subscribed and paid help out of reach, millions face crisis alone. Problems spiral - driving poverty, poor health, and social inequality. Every year, 3.6 million in England and Wales face unresolved legal problems. Research amongst marginalised communities found most had experienced 4-6 interrelated legal problems in 30-36 months.
We break down barriers to justice by providing accessible, quality online help that equips people with the knowledge, confidence and skills to deal with their problems themselves. We train intermediaries so that they can better support their communities to deal with legal problems. We collaborate with others to challenge systemic problems and research barriers to justice, and what interventions work. 57% of our users are disabled, 38% not working, 45% on a very low income, 20% BAME.
