Support JUSTICE’s core work to create a fairer justice system that strengthens democracy, builds trust, and enables all of us to thrive. We advocate for better laws, policies, and practices, and we challenge developments that threaten people’s rights or their equality before the law.

A functioning justice system is needed for everything from an efficient economy to a robust democracy. The UK justice system, however, is failing on multiple fronts. Racial disparities in the criminal justice system are deepening, court backlogs are increasing, prisons are dangerously overcrowded and many, including migrants and asylum seekers, cannot access justice. Without urgent reform, people’s trust in the justice system - and the broader institutions it supports - will continue to erode.

JUSTICE is a law reform and human rights charity working to build a fairer justice system for everyone in the UK. We carry out expert-led research on justice system issues, publish recommendations to improve the system, and then, using our excellent connections, and work with decision makers to change it. We also brief Parliament on new legislation, intervene in third-party cases, organise public events, and work with the media to expand the public knowledge of the justice system.
