Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance delivers critical care at emergencies across Wiltshire, Bath and the surrounding area, reaching anywhere in the county in under 11 minutes. In 2024, we responded to 1,343 emergencies, with a record-breaking number of missions having a doctor on board. Demand has increased significantly in Bath, highlighting the need for rapid, specialist emergency care across the region. To effectively meet demand, replacement uniforms are required for our operational crew.
To work safely, crews need enough comfortable uniforms for daily changes, but our stocks fall short. Our current uniforms are up to seven years old and very worn. They are designed to fit men despite 24% of our crew being female. Gender specific, well-fitting replacements are essential to ensure that crews are comfortable and able to deliver their stressful roles. The uniform purchased will be for our pilots, doctors and paramedics, meeting the needs of both clinical and aviation requirements.
