When you have a rare and incurable blood cancer like Waldenstrom’s macroglobulinaemia (WM), every aspect of life changes–forever. Patients need medical, emotional, and practical support, but healthcare inequalities mean care is rarely joined up. Patients are left to navigate alone, adding strain to their physical and mental health as they constantly self-advocate. 77% rely on the internet for information, which risks being out of date, inaccurate and certainly not personally tailored to them.
WMUK is the only UK charity supporting those with Waldenstrom's macroglobulinaemia, and works closely with WM experts across the sector. Our WMUK Support Centre will bring specialists together online to offer tailored, holistic support in one place. Each week, we connect with 1,500 people affected by WM, signposting many to WM experts. By bringing expert care directly to patients, we remove barriers, reducing the burden and improving patient outcomes.
