At least 1 in 10 people have dyslexia, a learning difficulty affecting reading, writing, spelling, memory, and organisation. Still largely misunderstood, it impacts education and life in many ways. Without support, dyslexia can damage self-esteem, mental health, and literacy, increasing risks of school avoidance, unemployment, homelessness, crime, addiction and self-harm. Access to specialist help is more difficult, often impossible, for those from disadvantaged and low-income backgrounds.

The charity removes the barrier caused by the cost of specialist dyslexia services enabling people to unlock their full potential and improve the quality of their lives. Statutory funding is not available - pupils from poorer backgrounds are being left behind. Project activities will include dyslexia assessments, specialist 1:1 tuition and dyslexia courses (e.g. touch typing, study skills) filling the gap in dyslexia support, to improve literacy, confidence, and wellbeing.
