Bringing trees back to the Peruvian Amazon by supporting rural communities to restore degraded land. Native trees and crops are planted together to create sustainable incomes for families and support nature and climate resilience.

In the Peruvian Amazon, rural families use slash-and-burn farming to survive. This clears rainforest and leaves soil exposed. Heavy rains wash away nutrients, and hotter, drier summers caused by climate change scorch crops and pasture, reducing harvests and livestock productivity. Without tree cover, conditions worsen. Families are trapped in a cycle of shrinking returns, while deforestation drives further climate and nature loss.
We work with rural communities in the Peruvian Amazon to restore degraded farmland by planting native trees and crops. Families lead the planting and land management, supported by training, tools and technical guidance from our local team. This approach brings trees back into the farm landscape, improves soil, strengthens livelihoods, and restores canopy cover, supporting wildlife and local ecosystems.
