There is a chronic shortfall of up to 325,000 supported homes in the UK (MHCLG,2023). Without the support they need to tackle the root causes of homelessness many become stuck in a revolving door. A quarter of people rehoused after homelessness return to the streets within three years. That means the most marginalised in our city who find themselves in and out of housing, addiction, and the justice system are trapped in a constant loop of trauma, instability, lack of support and homelessness.
We have provided supported accommodation for people leaving homelessness for over 3 years, offering wrap around support including recovery sessions, life skills, mental health care, addiction recovery, co-production and more. We need your help to fund a new Housing Worker who will give 12 more people the support they need to leave homelessness every year. Our housing team has already supported 140 people to thrive at independent living after leaving our care, with an 87% success rate.
