Through this appeal we will support three groups of women: 1. Rape survivors at a refuge we operate in south Nepal 2. Rural women who are often victims of child marriage, caught in a poverty trap as day labourers 3. Deaf and vulnerable women at the Lily's Leaves social enterprise in Kathmandu.

We are addressing three problems: 1. Girls who are subject to sexual violence are often shunned by their community and struggle to find justice. Survivors need protection, rehabilitation and training so that they can be reintegrated to their communities. 2. Girls frequently drop out of school early and can become child brides soon thereafter. They lack education and skills and this condemns them to a miserable low-paid existence. 3. Disabled women cannot find training or work readily.
Problem 1 - we operate a refuge for rape survivors that meets their needs for protection, rehabilitation, counselling and training. Problem 2 - we run six-month long basic tailoring courses for up to 16 women before supporting them moving into business, providing equipment and start up grants. Problem 3 - we train and employ disabled (deaf) young women alongside vulnerable women who can hear at the Lily's Leaves social enterprise, teaching urban reforestation and sapling nursery skills.
