Insights from the UK Musicians Census (Help Musicians) found that 80% of artists reported at least one or more career-restricting barrier, with a lack of industry contacts and access to professional advice/support being the top non-financial barriers. Further insights showed that in 2023, over half (53%) of Global Majority music artists experience cost-related barriers, demonstrating the challenging nature of building a sustainable music career in an increasingly shrinking funding landscape.

Alongside free concert tickets, we will nurture 30 diverse music artists, with at least 50% from the Global Majority. Emerging artists aged 16-18 will have two sessions: one with award-winning composer Renell Shaw, known for over a decade of youth development, and another with Kings Place on career growth. Artists 18+ will shape their unique sound in a masterclass led by Renell and gain hands-on experience with our Soundscape system in partnership with d&b audiotechnik to upskill professionally.
