Cambodia’s Indigenous People are being driven from the forests that provide their home, food, medicine and way of life. Deforestation means they lose everything. Those who speak out face violence, threats or arrest. Will you help Indigenous Communities build peace and a future free from fear?

Cord is tackling the exploitation of Indigenous Communities in Cambodia caused by deforestation, land grabs, and harmful corporate practices. Indigenous People have been marginalised, driven into poverty and denied a voice in the political system. Those who speak out are vulnerable due to oppressive laws and a culture of impunity around human rights violations. Human Rights Defenders (HRDs) are intimidated, threatened and even violently attacked by government authorities and private companies.

Cord has supported Indigenous People and promoted corporate responsibility in Cambodia for more than a decade. Building on this work we will equip 150 HRDs to advocate safely for their communities. We will strengthen 75 local authority officials to hold companies accountable and support 5 multi-national companies to adopt responsible business practices that minimise impact to Indigenous People’s land.
