Over a third of children in care have family members overseas who could provide them with a safe and loving home but too often they are overlooked. CFAB is the only UK charity dedicated to reuniting children with their families across international borders. Our work is complex but life changing.

Less than 1% of children in the care system are reunited with family members overseas, family members who could offer them love, stability and a safe home. Children who grow up with family are more likely to have better educational and economic outcomes, improved well being and greater stability in their lives. It costs over £200,000 per year to keep a child in our under-funded and over-stretched care system in the UK. Every child deserves their right to a family.
With a global reach spanning over 130 countries, we work to reunite children with family overseas who would otherwise remain in care. We have the right people in the right places to explore all options for children. Through our national Advice Line, we help over 80% of Children’s Service teams navigate complex international child protection cases, providing expert advice and solutions for children with family abroad and through specialist training we advocate for a family-first approach always.
