We are requesting donations for a new minibus to enable adults experiencing mental ill health from Cumberland & Eden Districts to access our services at our Tebay site. This is vital to our service provision & providing a programme of support that not only rebuilds but also saves people’s lives.

There is desperate need for mental health support in Cumberland/Eden. Cumbria has a 50% higher suicide rate rather than the national average due to factors such as deprivation, limited mental health services, social/rural isolation & economic challenges. The majority of our beneficiaries don’t drive & our site at Tebay can’t be accessed via public transport. Having our own reliable transport is essential in enabling people to access our much-needed services.

A new minibus will enable us to continue providing vital transport for people living in Carlisle, Penrith, Shap, & Appleby & expand our reach to those living in isolated rural communities. Individuals will have access to a structured programme of horticultural activities & a package of therapeutic support. This will enable them to develop a range of skills, build their connection with others, increase their confidence, learn ways to manage their mental health needs & set goals for recovery.
