The families we support are struggling to cope, often not engaging with a declining support sector. 75% live in poverty and many in temporary accommodation. Two thirds don’t have a support network and a third find it hard to manage their households. Their children lack security, nutrition, play activities, equipment and learning opportunities. Without intervention, this leads to crisis and gaps in care and development, and therefore to poor social, emotional, academic and economic outcomes.

Our staff and trained volunteers provide practical and emotional support through 1:1 home visiting and group activities, intervening early to prevent harm and improve outcomes. We signpost, reduce stress, listen non-judgmentally and befriend, helping families to navigate challenges and build skills and confidence to support their children's development. Group activities (eg reading, crafts, gardening, outdoor play) combat social isolation and stimulate social, physical and early-learning skills
