Everyone deserves the best possible care at the end of life. Yet, evidence shows that it’s the same communities who are most likely to miss out on healthcare during their lifetime, who are the least likely to get the best care at the end of life. More must be done to reach underserved communities. It’s unacceptable that where you live or your financial situation impacts the end-of-life care you receive. Too many people in rural areas or facing hardship can't access the support they need.
Hospice UK will highlight hidden barriers that prevent people from accessing the hospice care they need. Through 10 pioneering hospice pilots, we'll discover new ways to make hospice care easier to access addressing the financial burdens people face. We'll share best practice &build practical resources to help hospices connect & serve their most vulnerable communities. With the data & evidence, we capture we'll champion policy recommendations, urging decision makers to remove financial barriers.
