Every day, critically ill children are admitted to hospital. We keep families together in their darkest moments by providing a vital 'Home from Home' just minutes from their child's bedside. Right now families need our support, but we can’t do it alone.

Every day, nearly 300 babies and children are admitted to intensive care in the UK. A child falling critically ill and being suddenly admitted to hospital is a terrifying and distressing time. Families are traumatised, often far from home, and forced to sleep in chairs or pay for expensive hotels they cannot afford to stay close to their child. No child should face hospital alone, especially at Christmas.

The Sick Children’s Trust provides vital ‘Homes from Home’ just minutes away from hospital wards, where families can stay close to their seriously ill child. Our caring staff are there to support parents through fear and uncertainty. With a hot shower, a proper bed and support from our staff, we help families find the strength to face the day. Our ‘Homes from Home’ support over 3,200 families each year. But it costs us £40 a night to support a family, and we rely entirely on donations.
