80% of children in Ghana do not acquire basic skills in literacy and numeracy by the end of primary school (UNESCO; 2022) with 35% of learners in rural areas not completing primary school (UNESCO; 2020). We believe that the talents and ideas of students, teachers and community members are not fully harnessed in addressing educational inequity; our model changes this.
EduSpots will connects, trains and equips over 400 local community educators - ‘Catalysts’ - a mix of teachers, students, and community members - to drive community-led change through a network of 50 innovative library hubs in underserved communities in rural Ghana and Kenya named ‘Spots’, which involve over 10,000 learners annually in fun, community-rooted and future-ready education through co-curricular clubs and digital tools. In 2026, we aim to expand the network from 50 to 100 Spots.
