In rural Tanzania, many rely on unsafe water shared with animals. Women and children walk long distances, risking disease and missing school. Our local team installs low-cost, sustainable wells. With your help, we’ll bring clean water to 15 villages.

Over 12,000 people in 15 villages and schools walk up to 5km daily to collect water from unprotected sources shared with livestock. This leads to widespread cases of diarrhoea, typhoid, and other waterborne diseases—especially affecting children. Girls often miss school to fetch water, further compounding cycles of poverty and inequality.
Our local Tanzanian partner uses an innovative and low-cost method of hand-drilling wells and installing rope pumps that reach depths of up to 30 metres. These do not require electricity, are easy to maintain, and are built using local labour and materials. Since 2016, over 100 such systems have been installed, all of which are still functioning and serving over 50,000 people.
