Transport poverty, employment barriers, and exercise inaccessibility, are just a few of the challenges faced by the marginalised groups Life Cycle work with. With a cost-of-living and climate crisis, access to affordable and sustainable transport is important now more than ever. Refugee on a limited stipend, ex-prisoner looking for employment, or visually impaired person facing accessibility barriers – Life Cycle make the benefits of cycling possible for those who need it most.

Life Cycle run training, activities, and bursaries that break down these barriers. This includes employability mechanic courses, tandem rides for blind people, and a free bike scheme for those on low income. For many groups, access to cycling is transformative. With bike in hand, the distance of affordable travel multiplies. This is often essential to travel to employment or vital services. Our bike mechanic courses also provide pathways into work for those facing employment barriers.
