For over 30 years ECPAT UK has been campaigning against child exploitation and lobbying for laws and policies to protect children. Last year, we celebrated all our work and achievements and those of our Youth Advisory Group who have surpassed so many obstacles and are now fighting alongside us.

Child trafficking and exploitation in the UK is worsening. In 2024, 19,125 people were referred to the NRM — the highest on record — with around 31% being children. They remain especially vulnerable due to exploitation and uncertainty around their status. Even after identification as exploitation victims, many receive no specialist care, leaving them at risk of poverty, isolation, and re-trafficking.

We campaign for better protection and care for all children. Our Youth Programme provides direct support to child victims in a safe space where they can build relationships through 1:1 support and mentoring, counselling, peer support groups, fun and creativity. Our Youth Advisory Group works with us to direct our rights-based, child-centred, and trauma-informed work to create change and inform our research, advocacy, training and campaigning, with children’s participation at the centre.
