Water is Life - but millions in East Africa still lack safe, reliable access. This project brings clean water to four communities in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, transforming health, farming and futures through solar boreholes, sand dams and local innovation.

In East Africa, many communities face daily water scarcity. Long droughts, degraded sources, and unsafe water mean families, especially women and girls, must walk miles for water that risks their health. Without water, farms fail, schools suffer, and disease spreads. The daily walk for water takes time away from education and economic activity. Our partner communities are ready for change but need the right tools and support to access clean, reliable water.
PFP supports community-led water solutions powered by clean technology. In Longido, we’ll install a solarised borehole for year-round supply. In Patongo, we’ll construct a sand dam to store water for irrigation. In Osupukiai, we will carry out improvements to strengthen the existing water supply from the solarised borehole about 1km away, to Elong'o school. In Lake Victoria, we will expand our innovative partnership with Wable Safi to pump and treat lakewater with UV and filters.
