With 1/4 women & 1/7 men experiencing domestic abuse, 1/6 people affected by depression or anxiety each week & almost 50% of adults suffering from loneliness, the need for relational literacy is great. “As a society & as individuals, we must urgently prioritise investing in building & maintaining good relationships & tackling the barriers to forming them. Failing to do so is equivalent to turning a blind eye to the impact of smoking & obesity on our health & wellbeing.” Mental Health Foundation
We have been delivering a relational literacy course in a local women’s prison since 2018, and are now making it available to the wider community. The course supports anyone seeking a better understanding & awareness of how relationships are built & sustained and equally how to recognise signs that a relationship is unhealthy or abusive. Healthy relationships provide the foundations for people to live happier, more fulfilled lives. They are integral to our mental and physical well-being.
