We’ve launched Spear Hastings to support 16-24 year olds who are NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training). By equipping them with skills, confidence and hope, we’re creating lasting change. Join us in empowering young people in Hastings to overcome barriers and build brighter futures.

In Hastings a generation of young people is at risk of being left behind. Strategically placed in the heart of the town, HTH witnesses firsthand its profound socioeconomic challenges. Ranked the most deprived local authority in the South East by most measures, Hastings has a significantly high percentage of NEET young people, and this contributes to a culture of low aspiration and disillusionment. Existing local initiatives are limited, leaving critical gaps in tailored, transformative support.
Our goal is to shape a future where young people in Hastings can thrive. Spear Hastings, run by HTH in partnership with the charity, Resurgo (meaning ‘to rise up’), combines group sessions and one-to-one coaching to develop both practical employability skills and the mindset needed to overcome personal barriers. Young people are equipped to move into employment, education or training, with six months of follow-up support – raising aspirations, fostering hope, and building long-term resilience.
