Help us fund our new little postage office for four months – the only source of printed aplastic anaemia information in the UK. Because when you’re diagnosed with a life threatening disease – you need to understand what it is, what the treatment involves, and how to explain it to your children

If your child falls seriously ill, you hope they’ll be surrounded by people who understand what’s happening and how to make them better. But if it's AA, none of your family or friends have heard of it. Your GP has never heard of it. Nor have staff at A&E. It’s not on the NHS website. The school are confused. You’re given a leukaemia leaflet and told “it’s similar.” Other children in the oncology ward receive gifts from cancer charities, but your family are met with confusion and turned away.
We are the only charity supporting people with AA in the UK. Our tiny charity is doing all the work that multiple huge cancer charities deliver for children going through cancer. We publish the only patient information about AA, including a full suite of age-appropriate booklets for children, accessible videos, and a children’s book. When children like Erica go into hospital, we send care packages. And we connect them with other super rare kids who have been through similar treatment.
